Newborough Teacher Training Institute is an extension of Newborough School, founded in 1904 in Liverpool, England. Miss Dorothy Prior held the position of Principal of the school from 1968 to 2005. Miss Prior was a lecturer and an examiner at St. Nicholas Training Centre in London, England.
Newborough School accommodated students between the ages of three to sixteen years. It was a private school recognized by the Department of Education and Science in the United Kingdom.
Newborough Training College, founded in 1979, offered full-time, part-time and study by distance courses in the Montessori Method of Education, to adult students. Miss Prior was an international lecturer and examiner of the Method. The College attracted students from many areas of the world. Miss Prior retired in January 2006 at the age of 83 years. She continues to be available to share her knowledge.
